About The Show…

Scott Kirby 2026 with all Proceeds to go to the TRMA Artists Relief Fund

NOTE – while we have a suggested donation, as this is specifically a fundraiser for the TRMA Artists Relief Fund we encourage you to consider a higher donation to help all our artists! Make sure to see the special raffle item as well!!!

I am going to start out with the specifics of the purpose of this show – it is a fundraiser for the TRMA Artists Relief Foundation, and all of Scott’s Merch Sales will go towards the fund, and all proceeds of the show from the gate (above his travel expenses) will also go to the foundation!

So what is the TRMA Artist Relief Foundation? (click to find out more)

The TRMA Artist Relief Foundation provides a financial safety net of critical assistance for independent musicians in times of need.

The Foundation’s services and resources cover a wide range of financial, medical and personal emergencies.

The TRMA Artist Relief Foundation also focuses the resources and attention of the independent music industry on human service issues that directly impact the health and welfare of the music community.

If you are unable to come to the show, but would still like to contribute, contact us and we will arrange it. and if you are interested in participating in the special raffles (see further down) and purchase tickets, we can arrange that – you don’t need to be present to win and you will help an artist!

About Scott:

Singer, songwriter, guitarist, storyteller, traveler and road warrior are all words that aptly describe Scott Kirby. Finishing songs while driving through the Italian countryside, performing 100 plus live shows throughout the US and Canada, touring Ireland with 50 fans in tow, and recording his tenth album in Nashville, all keep the barnacles off this modern-day troubadour.

Kirby started writing songs after some inspirational late-night words from legendary songwriter Shel Silverstein and further encouragement from Peter Mayer, who had just joined the Coral Reefer Band. A year later he found himself recording his first CD, Too Damn Yankee, in Jimmy Buffett’s Shrimpboat Sound Studio with Peter and Jim Mayer and Roger Guth. “This was a very lucky break for me, but I was in a bit over my head,” says Kirby. “Peter, Jim and Roger were incredibly patient with me and it was a fantastic learning experience.”

When it comes to songwriting, Kirby respects authenticity and counts on everyday life and his coastal roots for much of his inspiration. “I don’t wake up every day thinking about writing the next commercial hit,” says Kirby. “Songwriting for me is about telling stories, expressing emotions, and commentary on things I may find funny or absurd.”

Over the years Kirby has shared the stage with some of his favorite artists: Carole King, Jimmy Buffett, Tom Rush, Mac McAnally, Darius Rucker, Livingston Taylor, Marty Stewart, Asleep at the Wheel and others. When not on the road or performing in Key West, Kirby splits his time between Key West and the coast of Maine, where he can often be found sailing, a lifelong passion of this descendent of Newfoundland fishermen. He’s also recently discovered a little town in Southern France, where he plans to lay his head a month or two each year.

Yes, Scott Kirby is—as he readily admits—lucky enough.

The Habitat is the private home of Ken and Heather Settlemyer who are passionate about the importance of nurturing both local plant and animal wildlife and independent musicians.

Habitat-PhotoLive Music & A Wildlife Sanctuary… The concept of the House Concert is to provide a venue where musicians can come to be heard by those whose primary intention is to listen rather than to have music in the background.

We host musicians to perform at The Habitat approximately one to two times per month, either on our outdoor stage, or on the indoor stage in the event of inclement weather or upon musician request.

We are also proud to maintain over 1/4 acre of wilderness within an urban environment, providing much needed habitat for a variety of native species.  We plant only native species and manage or eliminate the non native species in that area.  We are delighted to play host, not just to excellent musicians, but to a plethora of beautiful butterflies.

The Habitat concerts are a private event, contact us for an invite, and when you come, BYOE and a donation for the musicians.  This is completely not for profit, all donations go in entirety to the artists, some of whom will have traveled from out of state!  Food to share is always welcomed, but not required.

We respect our neighbors and all noise ordinances and time the concerts in consideration of both.  We sincerely hope you join us when you are able.

You are also welcome to stop by and ask Ken for a tour, he will be proud to show you our work in progress as we make a miniature wildlife preserve in the middle of Bradenton, a haven for bees, birds, bats and butterflies!

The Habitat has chosen Singing For Change as our official Charity!  We will now make available “The Habitat” branded items including the Singing For Change Logo with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the charity.
