About The Show…

Christie is a favorite of ours.  We are so happy that she is returning to our stage this year

And this time she is bringing friends – she will be performing as a full band – bass player and drums!

Christie took First Place at the International Fingerstyle Guitar Championship in 2017, was voted Acoustic Guitarist of the Year by England’s Music Radar in 2019, and was named one of the “Best Acoustic Guitarists in the World Right Now” by Guitar World Magazine in 2020.

She has been included in the Melissa Etheridge Cruise, and has shared the stage with Tommy Emmanuel an number of times.

This only happens when you are both excellent at your craft and engage with your audience on a core level, and we are honored  that she continues to choose our stage to play!

About The Artists:

Check out Christie’s website – Christie Lenée Music

Christie Lenée is a captivating performer with a devoted following among instrumental, folk-pop and rock band audiences. Combining guitar mastery, contemporary singer/songwriter and a passion for storytelling, she thrives onbringing people together through the language of music.

Christie’s unique guitar work and profound instrumental compositions are well described as ‘Michael Hedges meets Joni Mitchell and Dave Matthews.’ Among the vast community of fingerstyle and tapping guitarists, her niche is the integration of melodic pop lyricism with catchy hooks that excite both modern commercial listeners and classic purists. With a menu of percussive and sonic effects, and larger than life sounding instruments, her solo shows embody layers of orchestral elements with a wide array of dynamics and harmonic textures.

Beyond her technical prowess and abundant joy, Lenée has the rare ability to connect with audiences through an emotional landscape. Her spiritual depth resonates with listeners, filling them with healing and lasting inspiration.

Christie performs solo and duo shows alongside multi-instrumentalist Katie Marie, with a set sampling both Lenée’s instrumental and vocal repertoire. Her live show embodies loops, percussion, vocal FX, acoustic tapping, electric bass, positive optimistic songs and high energy performances.  For this show, she will also have drums on stage, rounding out the show as a full band experience that will create a unique experience at The Habitat!

The Habitat is the private home of Ken and Heather Settlemyer who are passionate about the importance of nurturing both local plant and animal wildlife and independent musicians.

Habitat-PhotoLive Music & A Wildlife Sanctuary… The concept of the House Concert is to provide a venue where musicians can come to be heard by those whose primary intention is to listen rather than to have music in the background.

We host musicians to perform at The Habitat approximately one to two times per month, either on our outdoor stage, or on the indoor stage in the event of inclement weather or upon musician request.

We are also proud to maintain over 1/4 acre of wilderness within an urban environment, providing much needed habitat for a variety of native species.  We plant only native species and manage or eliminate the non native species in that area.  We are delighted to play host, not just to excellent musicians, but to a plethora of beautiful butterflies.

The Habitat concerts are a private event, contact us for an invite, and when you come, BYOE and a donation for the musicians.  This is completely not for profit, all donations go in entirety to the artists, some of whom will have traveled from out of state!  Food to share is always welcomed, but not required.

We respect our neighbors and all noise ordinances and time the concerts in consideration of both.  We sincerely hope you join us when you are able.

You are also welcome to stop by and ask Ken for a tour, he will be proud to show you our work in progress as we make a miniature wildlife preserve in the middle of Bradenton, a haven for bees, birds, bats and butterflies!
