Floating Collective at The Habitat 2024
Unfortunately, we have been told that Brendan has been asked to officiate a wedding on this day, so we will need to delay this show to a future date TDB. (Yes, we are as disappointed as you are.)
These three musicians and songwriters grew up the children of accomplished musicians. Their fathers are songwriters, skilled instrumentalists and recording artists and are all longtime members of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band.
What is immediately observable is the fondness and respect the members of the Floating Collective have for one another. It made for a very comfortable, relaxing interview. The goal seemed to be communication without ego.
The Floating Collective undoubtedly has great music in store for us, sure to captivate music fans. Whether on recordings or in concert, the Floating Collective is certain to get your attention and imagination.

Will Kimbrough at The Habitat 2024
Will is probably best known in our Trop Rock community for writing the song “Bubbles Up”, which is likely the most moving and important songs on Jimmy Buffett’s last recorded album, which was released after his passing last year.
Will Kimbrough has spent a lifetime writing songs and performing them, along the way becoming a respected recording artist, producer and musician. His latest album is I Like It Down Here and his next release is Spring Break, a solo acoustic record in the tradition of Folkways and Vanguard folk records.
Will’s songs have been recorded by Jimmy Buffett, Little Feat, Todd Snider, Jack Ingram, Gretchen Peters and many others. His production credits include Buffett, Doug Seegers, Todd Snider, Radney Foster and Steve Poltz. Will is a prolific writer and recording artist, a member of Willie Sugarcapps, DADDY and Emmylou Harris’ Red Dirt Boys.
This is a show that should not be missed…
OF NOTE!!! as many of you know, The Habitat rode the northern eyewall of hurricane Milton, and we did sustain some irreversible damage as we have lost the Habitat Tree (one of the largest Live Oaks in Bradenton, estimated to be about 100 yrs old) – and our yard/seating area will take some time to recover. As such, we have decided we need to keep this show in the evening timeframe as we no longer have shade over the entire yard. We also request that you wear flat comfortable shoes, and be cautious walking in the yard as we are still releveling everything after the removal of the storm. If you are interested in helping us with recovery, please chat with Heather, we will be working on replanting our native flora, and will be planting a new live oak tree of as large a size we can obtain in it’s spot when the land is ready for it. Thank you for supporting live music at The Habitat!

Everybody knows when it comes to singer/songwriters, there is definitely something in the water down in Texas. Scott Kirby with Lew London at The Habitat 2024 (NOTE VIP is no longer availabe, selection of that option will put you on a WAITLIST only at this time
Scott returns to the Habitat and will again be joined by Grammy Nominated Lew London – We hope you will make the time to join us for what we know will be a well attended and well received show this year!
Singer, songwriter, guitarist, storyteller, traveler and road warrior are all words that aptly describe Scott Kirby. Finishing songs while driving through the Italian countryside, performing 100 plus live shows throughout the US and Canada, touring Ireland with 50 fans in tow, and recording his tenth album in Nashville, all keep the barnacles off this modern-day troubadour.
When it comes to songwriting, Kirby respects authenticity and counts on everyday life and his coastal roots for much of his inspiration. “I don’t wake up every day thinking about writing the next commercial hit,” says Kirby. “Songwriting for me is about telling stories, expressing emotions, and commentary on things I may find funny or absurd.” Over the years Kirby has shared the stage with some of his favorite artists: Carole King, Jimmy Buffett, Tom Rush, Mac McAnally, Darius Rucker, Livingston Taylor, Marty Stewart, Asleep at the Wheel and others.
When not on the road or performing in Key West, Kirby splits his time between Key West and the coast of Maine, where he can often be found sailing, a lifelong passion of this descendent of Newfoundland fishermen. He’s also recently discovered a little town in Southern France, where he plans to lay his head a month or two each year.
Lew London is a multi instrumentalist, singer, composer with an eclectic range of musical tastes and a passion for traditional roots music and jazz. Lew has performed and toured the country since the early seventies. He has recorded with Grammy winners Steve Goodman, Mavis Staples and as a studio musician for many artists throughout his long career.
Lew was a candidate for Guitar Player Magazine’s guitar player of the year in 1977. Lew’s Philo/Rounder album “Swingtime in Springtime” met with sparkling reviews and is available in the USA and Japan. Lew participated in performance and production of “Singing Through the Hardtimes”, a tribute to Utah Phillips nominated for a grammy in 2010. Lew is also a live sound and recording engineer, producer and an Avid Certified Instructor for Pro Tools. He spent 18 years as Executive Director of Chartertech High School for the Performing Arts in Somers Point, NJ.
He lives in Florida and focuses on performing and recording music. Lew has accompanied Scott Kirby often during their 25+ year friendship. He performed, engineered, produced, and mixed Scott’s “Sol Searching” CD.

With story teller songs about life and love, lyrical tales from the unique people he’s met along the way, and of course plenty of summertime “drinkin’ at the lake tunes” with an island-inspired twist, there’s something in a Mike Nash show for everyone to relate to.

I cant believe I get to say this for this show – but it is CANCELLED due to SNOW – with I10 and all the major roads in the panhandle and North Florida closed due to this storm, Brent is not realistically able to travel to our area to perform – we WILL of course be looking to reschedule him, so keep an eye out for an announcement – until then, February 8th is our next show – and that one WILL be happening!
Julian Taylor, a Listening Room Festival Artist Show! (THURSDAY SHOW!)
gates at 6:00, Show starts 7:00 (This is a THURSDAY show so we are starting it a bit later due to work schedules and rush hour traffic!)
There are so many stars in the music world that shine only for a moment. And there are stars that rise and fall, but the heat of some stars can’t be contained and must rise again. Toronto based singer-songwriter Julian Taylor is one of those phoenix-like stars.
His first moment in the sky started and ended with the hit-making band Staggered Crossing. After their breakup, Julian could have walked away, satisfied with that bright, brief moment. Instead, he went back to work, starting at the bottom, playing in cover bands, working bars, running an open stage as a solo artist. There were moments of impact when he formed the Julian Taylor Band and released two albums. But those were mere steps in the process. When he decided to strip his songs to the basics and go solo with his soul-folk 2020 album, The Ridge, his career rose over the horizon again and sparkled brighter than the first time. Mostly acoustic and sung in Julian’s distinctive warm baritone, The Ridge earned him two JUNO Award nominations, one Canadian Folk Music Award for Solo Artist, five Native American Music Award nominations, plus a nomination for the Polaris Music Prize.
In 2022, Taylor released his follow up album Beyond the Reservoir. It received a nomination from the Country Music Association of Ontario Awards in the Roots Artist of the Year category, a nomination for a JUNO Award in the Contemporary Indigenous Artist of the Year category, and two Ontario Folk Music Award nominations for Song of the Year and Performing Artist of the Year. “Julian Taylor’s music is a beacon of hope in troubled times. His lyrics are thoughtful and inspiring, and his voice is both powerful and tender. This is music that will lift your spirits.” (Canadian Beats) – Wayne Arthurson
